After School & 21st Century Program

EAGLES CLUB: The SRES Afterschool Program

The Eagles Club provides a learning community in which teachers and staff provide instruction through innovation and creativity. We strive to provide individualized learning experiences that take each child to his or her next level of achievement. Our goal is to provide excellence in student achievement and educational guidance.

The Eagles Club is funded by the 21st Century grant in contribution to CCDF. The program allows for students to have an opportunity to receive additional instruction in core subject areas, such as reading, math, writing and science linked to state and national standards.

The Eagles Club is offered to 1st-6th grade students Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 3:30–5 p.m. Snacks are served at the beginning of program, followed by physical activity, academic intervention and enrichment class. Students have a variety of classes to select from, such as O’odham Culture, Awesome Artists, Exploring Math, Scavenger Hunt, Number Ninjas, STEM Science Club, and more.

Eagles Club instructors are certified teachers and instructional assistants work with students to help them succeed in their classrooms. Eagles Club instructors use well-researched teaching strategies with students meant to reinforce standards-based learning, but also intrigue young minds and make academics fun. Eagles Club students are assessed at the beginning and end of each semester to measure academic gains made throughout the program.

Student may miss no more than 10% of the days of which they are enrolled or they will be dropped from the Eagles Club.

  • Enrolled Monday/Tuesday class: 32 days - 3 days (10%) = dropped after three (3) absences
  • Enrolled Thursday/Friday class: 32 days - 3 days (10%) = dropped after three (3) absences

Please note: If a student is picked up early (before 4 p.m.), it will be considered an absence.

Student behavior that violates the Student Parent Handbook and school rules could lead to a variety of discipline outcomes, including teacher/student conferences and teacher/parent conferences, behavior intervention lessons, and/or expulsion from the Eagles Club.
