May is "Field Day" Month at SRES!

This year, our physical education teacher Coach B is challenging students and their families to complete a month of field day activities!

At SRES, students have been practicing and preparing for "Field Day" month. Whether you are a remote learner or joining us in-person, students can use the attached National Field Day game package, which has hyperlinks to view 24 activities to do at home by yourself or with your family! All students are challenged to choose and complete at least four activities by Tuesday, May 18. Send your teacher or Coach B a photo or video of you doing the Field Day activities! Remember to be safe, respectful, and have fun!

Each activity tile in the image below is hyperlinked to an example of the challenge for you to review; then you try to complete it to your best ability. Keep track of your activities on the official score card (scroll down to the end of this page) and turn it in to your homeroom teacher.

Field Day Equipment
Completing "Field Day" Month is easy using everyday items found around your home. If you want to try every activity, the complete list of needed equipment is below. Don't have the needed item at home? No problem! Get creative and trade/substitute any items you can find around your house.

  • 6 Large Socks, or paper (to create sock balls)
  • 1 Laundry Basket (or bucket)
  • 6 Medium to Large Plastic Bowls or Containers
  • Paper (to keep tally points)
  • Pencil or Pen
  • 1 Empty Water Bottle
  • Oversized T-Shirt, Shorts, and a Hat
  • 10 Plastic Cups
  • Clock or Stopwatch
  • 1 Coin
  • 2 Paper Plates (or cardboard to use as a fan)
  • 3 Balloons
  • 1 Ping Pong Ball (can use a small balloon)
  • 10 Clothing Items
  • 1 small ball
  • 1 book
  • 1 Kitchen Spatula
  • 1 Plastic Container Lid
  • 5 to 10 Pairs of Shoes
  • Two 1-Gallon Milk Jugs
  • 3 to 6 Sheets of Paper (for making airplanes)
  • Scavenger Hunt Worksheet
  • 1 Medium-sized Bucket
  • 1 Plastic (Tupperware) Container
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Small Object that Fits in Spoon
  • 1 Large Towel
