This is the image for the news article titled Introducing the Little Free Library at SRESOver the past few months, participants of the FACE program have been working hard to create and install a Little Free Library at Salt River Elementary School.

Their hard work paid off and the wooden box decorated with the painted hand prints of children now sits south of the school along the bus lane. It was unveiled April 1 and has been used several times already. The purpose of the Little Free Library (LFL) is to "take a book, share a book." Everyone is encouraged to leave a book (or two!) in the LFL and take a book out; you're welcome to keep the book and replace it with a different book you no longer want, or you can return the book for another person to enjoy.

Special thanks to SRES Librarian Nancy Yurek for the fabulous video!

About LFL: Underpinning Little Free Library’s “Take a Book, Share a Book” motto lies its mission to inspire a love a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.

LFL book-sharing boxes can improve book access and thus help improve literacy where books are scarce. They can mitigate slippage of reading skills during summer breaks and make it possible for kids and parents to share books at times that are convenient.
