SRES students, staff, and families are invited to join us for a fun-filled eveningof math games, a ROBOT CHALLENGE (see details below), prizes, music, food, and more!

The event is Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5:30-7 p.m. at SRES.

Families will have tons of fun while learning new ways to incorporate mathematical concepts and critical thinking into their daily life.

Robot Challenge
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be entered in a drawing for a grand prize. All entries will receive a participation certificate.

Rules
Limit ONE robot entry per family! You must build a robot using some of the following shapes:

  • Rectangular Prism 
  • Sphere
  • Cylinder
  • Pyramid
  • No glass or breakables permitted.
  • Must not be taller than 3 feet.

What can you use to build your robot? Here are some ideas (we encourage you to use what you have around the house - let your creativity shine!):

  • Cereal Boxes
  • Plastic Bottles
  • Milk Containers (non-glass)
  • Shoe Boxes
  • Juice Containers
  • Any type of box
  • Paper
  • Any empty container
  • Use tape, glue, staples, or hot glue to put it together!

Finally, every robot entry must come with a description about what your robot does - it's purpose. What is its job? What was it built to do?
